Drawing Class - Any day during school hours

Satoshi watched the students milling around the hall with little interest. They were his peers in a way, seeing as he was their age, but he was different so he never mingled, and he was no more lenient than he felt he should be. Though for students he felt made an effort, he felt they should have more leeway.

Art was something that was in his blood, and despite his bad health, he wanted the students to learn and appreciate it as well.

Sniper leaned against the doorway, his cart parked out in the hallway. "Yer students got charcoal all over th' walls again."

While cleaning up charcoal and graphite dust was marginally less awful than cleaning up the cafeteria, it still was more work he just didn't want to do.

Pushing up his glasses, Satoshi gave Sniper his general bland look, the kind that indicated his lack of emotion. "I apologize for that, some of them do end up wearing mor charcoal than they have on their projects in the end."

As it was, charcoal was only for the Drawing 2 students and they had only just picked it up the previous week.

"That's what you got sinks fer."

He checked his watch and then pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. He had plenty of time for a smoke before students started barging into the classroom. No smoking signs be damned.

Satoshi really didn't care if Sniper smoked.

"At least it's only charcoal or paints and there's no carpet." He didn't tolerate food or drink inside the classroom...ever. Which meant no gum, wrappers, or anything else to deal with.

"Jus' cos it could be worse don't mean it's any better." Sniper took a long drag of his cigarette and watched the students mingling outside.

"Any of these buggers any good?"

"No, but knowing how much more work you could be doing makes it easier to appreciate not having to do it."

Closing his eyes, he shrugged. There were a few students who he felt had promise. "Whether art is good is more of an opinion than anything. You're free to see if there are any works you like."

"You're awfully optimistic 'bout all this."

He wasn't all that interested in art, but he had trouble pictured any of these potential delinquents being good at anything.

"You would think I am wouldn't you?" Satoshi's smile was rueful as he took up a stick of chalk and started to drawing different methods of shading on the board.

Sniper should remember he's talking to someone who was the same age as those potential delinquents.

"Sorta strange seein' someone who actually loikes their job, mate. Most people here would do anythin' t' get out of it."

"True, but most other jobs would have me around people who think I'm too young to be so independent."

"If you can do th' job, whys it matter how old you are?" He flicked the stub of his cigarette in the trash can while trying to gauge how old or young Satoshi was.

"Why would I know that?" Satoshi asked. He was only fifteen, but he had the demeanor of a mature and very serious adult...something that made him quite popular with the female students, though he didn't seem to notice.

He shrugged and moved back towards his cart. "You brought it up mate."

"Noticing things are a certain way unfortunately doesn't mean that I understand why they are."

He placed the chalk back in the tray when he was done.

"But if you know why they are you can set about fixin' it. Least that's been my experience." In his case if he had problems he shot them, but the idea still stood.

"That's true too. When I do understand why then I will see about fixing it."

Satoshi's tactic thusfar was to be among but apart from everyone and everything.

"Hn. Guess you'll do what you gotta do." He started to push his cart down the hall. "You jus' make sure those students 'f yers don't go making art on th' walls of th' bathroom again."

"If you get pictures of what's done I'll try." Otherwise he couldn't do more than say "don't do it" to the students as a whole.

"Roight. I'll get ya some."

And with that he wandered off. To go be grouchy at someone else and empty their garbage. It's rather boring being the janitor.
